Welcome back to Talking Tails!
I am dedicating this post to my brother and best friend, Buster. He left us on Thanksgiving weekend. I want to assure you that he did not suffer and went rather quickly.
Buster was a great companion to my mom and dad for almost fourteen years. My dad actually “gifted” him to my mom for her birthday. I came along when Buster was six years old. Being a bit “rough around the edges,” Buster took me under his wing. He helped me to learn the ropes and did his best to keep me in line.
Buster was a friend to everyone and everything, loving people and all types of animals. Our bunny, Baxter, was one of Buster’s friends and taught Buster how to climb the steps. Buster was never aggressive and always extended a friendly paw. He was the shop dog at our mom’s studio for many years and greeted everyone with a friendly tail wag. We always joked that Buster was Mr. Safety. Whenever he felt we were in danger – thunderstorms, smoke alarm, standing on a ladder, bonfires, etc.
– he would bark to alert us to his displeasure. He loved and cared for all of us and we loved him back.
Life will not be the same without our Buster…we miss you buddy.
Talk to you soon. I will take over for Buster, but it is big paws to fill.
Joey
