Welcome back to Talking Tails!
One of our favorite days is coming up on February 22 – National Walk Your Dog Day. Yeah!! We love going for a walk, and we hope that our canine companions across the country can join in and take a walk on this special day.
Taking a walk is beneficial to both you and your human. Exercise is good for all of us and having a regular walking routine helps in maintaining a healthy weight and mental attitude for both dogs and humans. For many dogs, a walk is a good way to release energy in a nondestructive manner.
We feel a special bond with our human when we take a walk because we are sharing time together. We have also noticed that some humans use a walk to assist in training puppies. Being a responsible dog takes practice!
It is great to get out of the house and have social interaction with dogs we encounter on the walk or run with in the dog park. We are social animals and, as much as we love our humans, we do enjoy hanging with our buddies. Our humans even get a chance to meet new people on our walks and enjoy some social interaction of the human kind…no butt sniffing!
See you on the trails on February 22!
Talk to you soon!
