Welcome back to Talking Tails!
We are super excited because the annual Take Your Dog To Work Day (TYDTWDay) is scheduled for Friday, June 24. Many businesses, even those that are not traditionally pet friendly, allow employees to bring their dog to work on this special day. We go to work a lot with our Mom, but we will certainly be there on June 24 to support Pet Sitters International (PSI), the creators of TYDTWDay.
Buster was the original “shop dog,” and he has done a good job of training Joey to share this role. Our responsibilities are vast and we don’t know how Mom would run the studio without us! We watch the front door and let her know when anyone is within visual, hearing, or smelling range of the studio. We do our best to keep the studio’s outside back area free of squirrels and birds. Most importantly, we serve as models and test out our Mom’s new sets. We are sure you have seen us on Facebook, Instagram, and the studio’s website. Buster is a natural, but Mom has to work with Joey to perform his model duties!
TYDTWDay is celebrated annually and this year marks the 18 th annual event. PSI created this day to celebrate the great companions dogs make and to promote their adoption. PSI is the world’s largest educational association for professional pet sitters and provides an Official Pet Sitter Locator on their website to help you find a local professional pet sitter.
If you go to work on June 24, be sure to have your Mom or Dad snap a photo of you at work and enter it into the PSI’s 2016 Take Your Dog to Work Day Photo Contest. The winner will receive a $500 prize package from Kurgo, the photo contest sponsor, and select an animal shelter or pet rescue organization to receive a $500 Kurgo product donation. All the details can be found at https://www.petsit.com/take-your-dog- to-work- day-photo- contest.
Hopefully, you will be able to go to work with your Mom or Dad on June 24. If you are a planner, mark your calendar for next year’s TYDTWDay – June 23, 2017.
Here’s to a fun TYDTWDay!
Talk to you soon!
