Welcome back to Talking Tails!
It’s December and that means the holidays are coming!! We love Christmas because we get to see lots of family and they spoil us with extra cuddles, walks, treats, and gifts!! We did some research on gift giving to see if our furry friends are as fortunate as we are when it comes to Christmas presents.
Survey research shows that, on average, about 75% of owners purchase a Christmas gift for their dog. Approximately, $5 billion is spent annually on holiday gifts for pets. Obviously, many human parents treat their dogs as another member of the family. As a side note, about 60% of us are remembered with a gift on our birthdays.
In addition to gifts, our mom and grandma give us a Christmas stocking. Those are usually filled with treats. Yummy! Of course, Joey wants to eat his and Buster’s treats, so mom has to manage the situation. We also have a prominent spot on our family’s Christmas card. Grandma even puts us, along with our cousin, Jade, on her Christmas card. We know we share this tradition with many of our furry friends because we see them come into the studio for their family Christmas card photo shoot. Lots of
them look mighty fine in their fancy ties, bows, and sweaters!
Here’s to a great holiday season for all!
Talk to you again in 2018!
Buster and Joey
