Welcome back to Talking Tails!
We are super pumped about Take Your Dog to Work Day on June 22. Gear up and head off to work with your human! We love going to the studio with Mom!!
Studies have shown that there are many benefits to having dogs in the workplace. This does not surprise us at all! Dogs can help to reduce stress, improve overall morale, boost creativity, increase productivity, enhance job satisfaction, and provide companionship to everyone in the office. We are glad to provide these services because these human interactions throughout the day are good for us too.
We took a look at a few of the companies that regularly allow employees to bring their dogs to work. For them every day is Take Your Dog to Work Day.
Amazon, one of the most dog-friendly companies, has a 1,000 square foot dog park with rocks and other climbing features, allowing dogs to exercise and burn off energy throughout the day. They have dog water fountains – how cool is that! The best feature…wait for it…a doggie treat truck. We would be in heaven!
Google highlights being dog friendly as part of the company’s code of conduct. Their Dog Policy, an entire paragraph in length, clearly reflects that dogs are a primary component of the corporate culture.
Kurgo, a company that makes dog travel gear, has showers designed to hose off muddy paws. Oh my goodness! Baskets of dog toys, an indoor play area with fake grass, dog beds, and treats in the kitchen are additional amenities. This is all great stuff, but as you can image, it can be a little overwhelming at
times. To address quiet time and needing your own space, each worker’s cubicle has a baby gate to use
when necessary. We can all appreciate a little bit of “alone time.”
Salesforce, a cloud computing company, has a dog policy affectionately named, Puppyforce. Employees can work in a dog-friendly room, with rubber flooring for easy accident clean-up. This would be great for us because we would be super excited to see all the people and other dogs, and, well you know, accidents sometimes happen. Water bowls, dog beds, and padded cages are the icing on the cake!
We also discovered that Bijou Workspace LLC, a boutique, dog-friendly, co-working space, recently opened in Charlotte. Have any of you checked it out?
Although we have all of our needs cared for when we go to work with Mom, we have to admit that w are a little bit jealous of the dogs that “work” at these companies!
We will be “at work” on June 22 and hope you are too!
Talk to you soon!
Buster and Joey
